Stream Water Monitoring Workshop for Delaware and Sullivan Counties in New York State Saturday November 9, 2013 8:30AM-4:00PM Delaware Youth Center, Callicoon, NY The New York Water Sentinels are looking for new volunteers to expand stream sampling monitoring efforts in Sullivan and Delaware Counties and will be hosting a stream monitoring workshop on Saturday, November 9, 2013, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM at the Delaware Youth Center, Callicoon, NY. The workshop will identify various forms of water pollution that could stem from natural gas drilling and other activities and will train volunteers to determine stream health using visual and chemical monitoring techniques. Up to 15 test kits are available to be leased at no cost to new stream teams. Lunch will be provided, and a $20.00 minimum donation is suggested. The training program is conducted by the Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring (ALLARM) and is cosponsored by Damascus Citizens for Sustainability and Delaware Riverkeeper Network in partnership with the NY Water Sentinels.
