Streching the piriformis. This little muscle can cause tons of problems including the dreaded sciatica. Because we as a society sit and arent as active as our farming ancestors, our muscles become tighter and we dont stretch as we should. The piriformis muscle helps rotate the hip and is located deep within the glut region or buttocks. Usually putting an elbow into the piriformis, especially when sore, will send most people off the massage table. Below are some stretches.
