Strength testing my homemade prototype lever, because I would like - TopicsExpress

Strength testing my homemade prototype lever, because I would like to be able to make the levers as well as the perches and not be reliant on NOS parts that may or may not be available. machined it so it fits and operates as original, but with a time constraint and not to the highest quality. And then mounted it in an original perch, with brake cable and attached to a hub to simulate normal operating conditions. Now braking force was applied by hand, first at a level as normal for an SNG prepared brake (two fingers to lift the back wheel) then with the full hand, then squeezing a little harder.... until our second test subject, with a bigger and stronger hand, squeezed with all his might and still my homemade lever held up perfectly. test result: SUCCESSFUL another step closer to making complete sets of replica Honda RC / CR brake and clutch levers.
