Stringfellow Pirates took on Bulls last weekend. The cameras were out, and town folks hang up their shot guns and headed to the Domain. The city slicker Pirates must have over indulged in the hair product and foundation, because the lads found themselves in a good old fashion arm wrestle throughout the opening 40minutes. Bulls forwards were hammering away all day like jake and josh from Chaytor Construction but without any improvisation from the host attack, they failed to add any points to go with the possession. Once the Pirates got their hands on the ball they two failed to produce their scurvy brilliance from past weeks. To many errors came into their game and they failed to build any momentum. The only points of the half came from Bryce Grants size 11s, he added two penalties to put the lads 6 Nil up. Some Stern, honest, and at times homophobic words from a fired up Coach at the break must have pumped the rum back into the veins of the Stringfellow Pirates. It didnt take long for the boys to kick into gear, Ben Cousins threw the dummy of the season to cross the line untouched (13-0). Kurt MacNamara guided the pack around the park with some academic kicking. Once the Pirates got their hands on some front foot pill they looked as good as the newly Single Adriana Lima. A functioning scrum & Lineout produced front foot ball for MacNamara and his backs to relish off. Bryce Grant punched through a hole to score his 8th try of the season (20-0). This must have broken the opposition because their defence opened up like the read sea, and MacNamara and John Missen both added to their season telly in quick succession (34-0). Childs brought on the subs who all contributed to such a stellar second half of footy. With time almost up, the Pirates added one more 7 pointer to our dwarf Bruno mars lookalike Matty Leaf.
