Strong cold southerly winds did not deter 43 people from fronting the starting line this evening. We had 5 visitors and one new local join us and 10 personal best times were recorded. There was strong competition in the 5 kilometres event with Scott Carver, Jo and Greg Flood recording impressive personal best times. The star of the event was Scott, who knocked off 18 seconds to record a time of 19 minutes & 22 seconds. He has entered the Coolangatta Gold, which is to be held in November and running is one of the 4 disciplines in the event. We wish Paige Connaughton a happy 18th birthday, Paige has been a regular runner for years now has been great watching her improvement and dedication. We will revert to the 5pm starting time from next week on, so hopefully if your excuse for not coming along over winter has been the earlier start time this may suit you better. So meet us up on the Mossy Point headland next Wednesday evening.
