Student Spotlight! Name: Karen Williams Age.. 52 Current Grade… 2nd Dan Blackbelt Training Programme… Kickboxing How long training….. 9yrs Why did you start? I was looking to improve my fitness and general health. After trying various types of keep fit classes, I discovered that Kickboxing benefited me not just physically, but mentally, due to the amount of discipline involved. What do you feel about Evade and it’s Martial Arts programs? Evade made me feel welcome from the start, regardless of my age, ability or level of fitness. With their help and encouragement, I have been able to push myself to achieve things I would never have thought I could do. Since joining Evade my health and mental wellbeing have improved immeasurably. Martial Arts are now an integral part of my life. I train 5 times a week, both in classes and private lessons. Dave Breed and his team of instructors are exceptional and constantly work to help everyone achieve their personal goal. The benefits of what I have learnt at Evade have had an impact on all aspects of my life outside of the gym. They have increased my confidence, self-discipline, and taught me to constantly push at self-imposed boundaries. Future goals and targets.. There are lots of areas that I would love to improve in, sparring, technique, speed, to name just a few. With this end in mind, I intend to carry on training hard, build on the skills I’ve already mastered, and learn as many new things as possible.
