Student Trainee Job Opening Biological Science Technician Pipestone National Monument is accepting applications for a Student Trainee-Biological Science Technician, GS-0499-04 position for the summer. Main duties include implementing exotic species control, collecting data according to established protocols, routinely using GPS/GIS in the course of this work, and maintaining established databases. Most of the work will be field work although some office work will occur. The position will include exposure to difficult field conditions (high heat/humidity, biting insects). Qualification Requirements: Must be a student in the spring and fall semesters of 2014. Enrollment must be at least half-time and in a degree or certificate seeking program, at an accredited college, university, or technical/vocational school. Courses should include some or a combination of scientific or technical courses such at biology, chemistry, botany, physics, mathematics, etc. Valid driver’s license required. You will be required to pass a background security check.
