Students! Interested in using art to make a positive change in your community? Enroll in Theatre 320: Performing Community, Tuesdays from 2:00-4:45. The class will explore the fast-growing field of civic performance, (professional performance aimed at solving civic challenges in partnership with community organizations.) Examine some great model projects, and then get a chance to participate in community workshops. One of the workshops the class will team up with is Stage Right Theatre. SRT aims to facilitate a collaborative, intergenerational, theatrical experience in senior care facilities.This will be done over the course of three visits and will use improvisational techniques, theatre games, music and movement to devise a script which will be rehearsed and performed by seniors and students alike.
