Students and faculty from the Department of Geosciences are featured in this KTVB report about an outreach effort with East Junior High School students about building a weather station on the roof of the school that can record weather in real time. The school is paired with another in Africa known as Coyu, through a nonprofit organization called TAHMO Initiative (Trans-African Hydro-Meteorological Observatory) that is putting weather stations across Africa. More accurate weather data is essential to the success of farmers in Africa.
