Students at all of Penn States campuses will soon have access to cutting edge engineering software that will make them more valuable in the job market. On Tuesday, Seimens presented the school with a software donation valued at $750 million dollars. Its the same program used by NASA to develop the Mars Rover. The donation is part of a new academic partnership between Seimens and Penn State, which was announced Wednesday at a conference in Philadelphia, chaired by former Governor Ed Rendell. The partnership aims to advance manufacturing, and give students a leg up in the job hunt. There are 77,000 different companies who use Siemens PLM software, said Seimens USA CEO Eric Spiegel, so this will just help our largest university partner and the students there to have an advantage as they move out into the marketplace. Penn State is one of Seimens top schools for recruiting new graduates.
