Students in Hagerstown, Indiana have been raising cattle as part - TopicsExpress

Students in Hagerstown, Indiana have been raising cattle as part of an agriculture class with the intended purpose of using the beef to feed their school. This is a creative, outside-the-box idea that will not only save their school $2,000 a year, but also teaches the students about responsibility for the care and feeding of animals. Many of these teens were not raised on farms, and administrators feel that is an excellent way to build interest in agriculture and develop the next generation of farmers. What do you think about this project? Could this be an example for other communities that want to preserve the traditions of farming?
