Student’s cross-continent train ride a social media hit In this fast-paced world where people are always running short on time and seeking shortcuts, sometimes it’s probably good to take the long route and enjoy the sights along the way. That’s what a 22-year-old #student from Chongqing City, southwestern China’s Sichuan Province decided to do when he booked himself on a train journey to university in Munich, Germany. The 21-day trip cost him approximately RMB 6000 ($978). The 14,000-km #journey from Chongqing to #Munich allowed him a glimpse at 14 cities across 9 countries, and in the process, he became a bit of a social media sensation in #China. “I appreciate his way of traveling; seeing the world by train”, wrote a Sina Weibo user named @Tianyuanpingchangxin, while commenting on the journey. “We will be old if we did not do some crazy things.
