These general objectives are the basis of the concepts proposed by the project NUTRAFRICA - that is committed to acting with a supporting activities to facilitate a sustainable “Future of Agriculture in Africa, since the year 2014 it is proposed by the African Union as The Year of Agriculture and Food Security in Africa. The changes in climate are the first sign of the effects of the obsolescence of the model of industrial development, and this is leading today to reflect on the worldwide need of a deep change of strategic development able to revive the bio-economy in agriculture in order to strengthen the capacity of the planet in supporting world hunger and ensure food security . The main challenges facing contemporary agriculture in the world are: 1 ) the pollution of environment and climate change, and 2) the growth of the world population . To address these fundamental challenges , it becomes more and more obvious that the dominant agro-food system of industrial production , consumer’s marketing oriented , will not be more sustainable . It is no longer acceptable in fact a pollution that causes irreversible and continuous environmental damage provoking an excessive loss of biodiversity of the living system and finally an increase in diseases such as cancer caused by environmental pollution and degradation. So it is obvious that you will need to profoundly change the absurd consumption of goods and energy , which become highly expensive in terms of disasters generated by global warming and illness for humans and animals. To give a feasible solution to these major challenges will be necessary in a first instance to encourage a profound cultural change that is primarily concerned with the future development of bio-economy in agriculture, which will have to be oriented in response to the pressing needs of a sustainability of eco- economy through enhancing an improved safety and nutritional quality of food for a better prevention of health care . The above will be possible to obtain , through creative development of of food nutrition security that will be able to propose new modes of intensification in contemporary agribusiness. Thus, for example, will be useful to foster a precision farming which does not pursue the outdated models of agriculture , through industrial extensive production, based on the use of mechanical systems. The transformation of agriculture in this sense will be decisive in order to reduce costs in terms of waste accumulation and excessive energy consumption, and in particular will be useful to decrease CO2 emissions , and so on . In addition a creative nutritional plan will be necessary to resort to new developmental opportunities based on functional foods and nutraceuticals and to advance in the fortification of traditional foods , so that may be possible a dep change of the habits of malnutrition that are caused both for different reasons by the lack of food and the abundance of food Therefore, the NUTRAFRICA CONCEPTS will promote THINKING GREEN as mode of underpinning the project , which aims to highlight the priority environmental renew the agro - food production , preserve the biodiversity of life on earth and oceans all through the creation and sharing of new creative knowledge appropriated to improve the skill levels of management strategies for intensification of development Agro -food industry both in Africa and in Europe. .
