Subject: Public Meeting Announcement September 30, 2014 On Tuesday September 30, 2014 at 7 pm representatives from the Vermont Department of Corrections (DOC) and the Vermont Achievement Center (VAC) will inform the public about the recent grant that was awarded by the department to the Vermont Achievement Center to provide for transitional housing with supportive services for offenders reentering the community from incarceration. The (20 ) twenty bed structured housing program will be located at the former McGee House at 30 Washington St. in Rutland, VT. The goals of this transitional housing program are to support offenders in community reintegration/reentry, to assist in maintaining public safety by offering an array of services and to reduce offender recidivism through on-site programming.
