Subject: Severe Weather Outlook Monday, July 22, 2013, 8:15 AM Chances for some severe weather in Arkansas over the next few days will continue to be above-normal for July. A few severe storms could occur in just about any part of the state this afternoon and this evening. However, best chances will be in northern Arkansas. Damaging winds should have a greater chance of occurrence than large hail. Another round of storms could enter parts of northern Arkansas tonight, probably after midnight, and linger into Tuesday morning. Large hail would probably be a greater threat with these storms. On Tuesday, a few severe storms could occur once again, with the best chances again being in the northern part of the state. Damaging winds should have a greater chance of occurrence than large hail. Although no widespread heavy rain is expected through the first part of this week, the storms that occur will not be moving very quickly, so at least a few areas will pick up heavy rain. Totals of 2 to 3+ inches are not out of the question, but such amounts would occur over relatively small areas. Nevertheless, a few Flash Flood Warnings may be necessary. Toward the end of this week, it appears that chances for severe weather could increase somewhat once again due to the arrival of a cold front.
