From February 2nd through March 31st, visitors to the Waukesha Public Library will have the opportunity to view a collection of my paintings on the librarys gallery wall on the first floor. Im so excited to be able to share my work with the public again in Waukesha! If you missed the display at City Hall last fall, or if you would like to see them again, the library is open to visitors Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Waukesha Public Library is located at 321 West Wisconsin Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. waukesha.lib.wi.us/about/art.shtml Heartland Farm Sanctuarys 5th Annual Gala One of my favorite places in Wisconsin is Heartland Farm Sanctuary in Verona. Heartland Farm Sanctuary, which opened in 2010, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless farm animals in Wisconsin, and building connections between animals and vulnerable youth. Heartland was created to provide a safe, peaceful environment where youth and farm animals could come together to heal, grow, and have fun. Many children today face significant life challenges such as physical, emotional, or cognitive developmental delays, a history of delinquent behavior or other detrimental life choices, or an abusive or otherwise troubling home life. Research has shown that these children can benefit tremendously by taking part in animal-assisted therapeutic activities, such as those programs developed by Heartland using the farm animals they help. One way you can help Heartland keep its doors open is by attending their 5th annual gala at the Madison Concourse Hotel on Saturday, March 14th. VIP tickets are $100 and include a special VIP reception with our farm animal friends. General tickets are $75. Both can be purchased now at heartlandfarmsanctuary.org/5th-annual-gala/ I like to create a special painting for silent auction at each of their galas, and a painting is currently in the works for this one! I love new year resolutions - they inspire us to take a moment to reflect on what is great in our lives, as well as what we would like to improve on. Right now, I would say Im pretty happy with how far Ive come with my painting skills, although there is still a lot of room for improvement. This year I would really like to focus more on portraits. Aside from that, I have started some online courses in business and photography, and I am also learning how to use essential oils for health and well being. One of my goals this year, in addition to my studies, is to become a little more involved with community art projects. I am also expanding my butterfly garden, and would like to attract swallowtail butterflies this year, while still caring for the monarchs. One change you may have noticed in the past couple months is my new website - yes, I have finally purchased my own domain name! You can now purchase prints of both my paintings and photography at jeanettefellows. My other website is still active, but direct purchases can only be made through my new website.
