Success Motivation Institute: Dynamics of Personal Motivation Lesson 1 - It’s a Big, Wide, Wonderful World. Abundance: I have learnt that having the ability to learn what that is taught by the seniors in office, is not their duty to do so but it is the culture that has been cultivated in the past. Coming into the industry as a newbie is tough without any mentoring. For AA, we practice abundance in a way whereby what I have learnt in the early period (e.g. 6months in the business), the knowledge that is freshly contained in the brain can be delivered or passed on to new associates joining the group so that the newer associates will enjoy the same privilege as I did. I remembered during my first month, I was shadowing Harry for Door Canvassing and realizing that a MDRT producer is very packed with his activities, he has lesser amount of rest for the week, resulting a dark eye round. As gratitude is the open door to abundance, I took the initiative by getting him an eye mask to help him relieve the swell. Nevertheless, I foresee myself in future to be experiencing the same amount of stress or even more. Therefore, I understand that sometimes it is not what we have but what we enjoy, constitutes to our abundance. Opportunity: In this chapter, I have learnt that before I can clearly grab the opportunity, I must be prepared to see it. In AA, directors and managers from the committee have always initiated numerous activities for us to take part, door knocking, road show, street prospecting, telethon sessions, adamkhoo night, chuan night, client’s appreciation night, etc, these activities are a form of opportunities towards the market. As advisor’s perspective, opportunities can be found through different ways and creativity. The ability to open new ideas to any type of business, from cold market, to warm market, to referrals and to commercial market. As I have been trying to find out in every event that AA and Great Eastern has initiated. In the near future 2015, by referencing from 2014 event dates, I am more prepared for the things that are going to happen. Consequently, if we fail to look for it, we fail to see it. The Power of Choice: In all human affairs, there are efforts, and there are results, and the strength of my effort is the measure of my results. Therefore, past records have shown that successful people only need one reason when they want to do something that is because they want to do it. Less successful people have a list of reasons why they cannot do it. My actions are based on my attitude which will determine the result. I want to cultivate a good attitude so that the chain reaction of my actions, emotions and expressions will increase my positivism to face any outcome in time to come. This chapter allows me to relate to this video below, as I believe in abundance theory, I do not need anything in return because at the end of the day, to live a pure unselfish life, is to make the lives of my fellow mates better.
