First, let’s take a look at an old saying that you’ve probably heard about network marketing: Myth: “It’s just a numbers game. Go get 100 people to say ‘no’ and you’ll be closer to getting a ‘yes’ from someone.” Truth: Network marketing is not a numbers game, it is a people business. People, not numbers, are the keys to being successful. People have desires, goals, and dreams. They have families – they are mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers. They are not numbers, but real people. This myth, or should I say LIE, teaches people to become recruiters rather than sponsors. A recruiter doesn’t care why you are doing the business. They don’t want to hear your goals. They don’t care what your spouse’s name is, or how many children you have. To a recruiter, it’s only a numbers game. A sponsor treats you like a person. They care what makes you tick. They want to understand your goals so they can help you achieve them. A sponsor understands that you can get anything you want in life once you help enough people get what they want. If you get good at recruiting, you’ll become known as a heavy hitter.
