Successful day distributing our relief packs, each containing 2kg of rice, tinned foods, soap, candles, matches, laundry soap, soy sauce etc. Women were given sanitary pads and baby milk powder for those with small children. We reached out to some villages which were not getting supplies, they were extremely happy and thankful. Next step is to get back to Cebu and start the process again, this time concentrating on hardware for rebuilding, aswell as essential supplies. Tomorrow we continue distributing relief packs and tarpaulins with the group we are working with, who have vehicles that have allowed us to get to these areas. Hundreds of people will eat well for a few days and will be slightly more comfortable, all thanks to those who donated to this cause. In Tacloban and the surrounding areas, the scene is that of total devastation, but the people here are bright and smiling in amidst of all the wreckage and loss, its a very interesting mix of emotions around the place. I did not expect to see so many smiling faces- these people are very strong. Good night from Tacloban!
