Time “But understands this, in the last days difficult times will come. For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, ungodly, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, savage, opposed to what is good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, loving pleasure rather than loving God. They will maintain the outward appearance of religion but will have repudiated [denied] its power. So avoid people like these.” [2Tim. 3:1-5/Net Bible] What time is it? Turn on the news! Read the paper! Remember this passage was written when Paul the apostle was allowed to see and describe life in these last days! What time is it? The time of Salvation! Call on the name of Jesus Christ and be sure of the grace that we now stand in: “Now because we are fellow workers, we also urge you not to receive the Grace of God in vain. For He says, “I heard you at acceptable time, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” Look, now is the acceptable time, look, now is the day of salvation!” [2Cor. 6:1-2/NB] Grace; the free gift What is GRACE and why do we need it? Grace is not receiving the punishment of the law. When Jesus died on the cross, He took the “payoff” of your sins: “For the payoff of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” [Rom. 6:23/NB] This truly is the very definition of grace! Limited Time Offer “Above all, understand this: In the last days blatant scoffers will come, being propelled by their own evil urges and saying, “Where is His promised return? For ever since our ancestors died, all things have continued as they were from the beginning of creation.”” [2Pet. 3:3-4/NB] So, here we are, not only in the last days, but also at the very end of the age of His grace! Now, right now, you can call on the name of Jesus, and believe with all your heart that God raised Him to life on the third day, and then you also can become a member of His Church: “But what does it [the Bible] say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” [that is, the Word of faith that we preach], because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” [Rom. 10:8-9/NB] Like any good offer, this offer is about to end! We have already started THE TRIBULATION, but before it can become THE GREAT TRIBULATION, God will call out His true Church with the sure sign of a trumpet call, while the ones who remain on the earth after the rupturing of His true Church will face the nightmare of THE GREAT TRIBULATION! The GREAT tribulation will end with the armies of a new-world leader [the Beast] surrounding Jerusalem and preparing to do battle against Israel, God’s elect in the battle of Armageddon! God will remember His covenant with Israel: “I will confirm My covenant as a perpetual covenant between Me and you. It will extend to your descendants after you throughout their generations. I will be your God and the God of your descendants after you.” [Gen. 17:7/NB] And that great battle of Armageddon will come to an end with our Lord Jesus returning to the world to establish His Kingdom of peace on earth that will last for 1,000 years! “He will judge disputes between nations; He will settle cases between peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nations will not take up the sword against other nations, and they will no longer train for war.” [Isa. 2:4/NB] And do you know the reason for this peace? Will the “peace talks” finally work? [Don’t hold your breath on that one] It is because the curse has been lifted! “A wolf will reside with a lamb, and a leopard will lie down with a young goat; an ox and a young lion will graze together, as a small child leads them.” [Isa. 11:6/NB] But as great as this peace is- Jesus Christ [the prince of peace] sits on His throne in Jerusalem- it is just a weak foretaste of the perfect joy awaiting the redeemed in Christ after Judgment Day! Judgment Day [or Satan’s last stand] At the end of the 1,000 years of peace, Satan [that old snake] will be unchained from his prison in the Abyss, to deceive people again: “Then I saw an angel descending from Heaven, holding in his hand the key to the abyss and a huge chain. He seized the dragon- the ancient serpent [that old snake], who is the devil and Satan- and tied him up for a thousand years. The angel then threw him into the abyss and locked and sealed it so that he could not deceive the nations until the one thousand years were finished. (After these things he must be released for a brief period of time.)” [Rev. 20:1-3/NB] Speaking of people, all the souls that were imprisoned in that dark prison of torment called Hell they will be released to appear before Christ, for this is Judgment Day: “The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death [the angel of] and Hades [or Hell] gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds.” [Rev. 20:13/NB] It is the time for Satan to make his move! He surrounds the city that has our Lord with a massive army- larger and more vicious than anybody has ever seen before- with legions upon legions of fallen angels [demons] not to mention the people he has deceived into following him. [The last day] “Then I looked when the Lamb [Jesus] opened the sixth seal, and a huge earthquake took place; the sun became as black as sackcloth made of hair, and the full moon became blood red; and the stars in the sky fell to the earth like a fig tree dropping its unripe figs when shaken by a fierce wind. The sky was split apart like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place. Then the kings of the earth, the Very Important People, the generals, the rich, the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. They said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and HIDE us from the face of the One who is seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, because THE GREAT DAY OF THEIR WRATH HAS COME, and who is able to withstand it?” [Rev. 6:12-17/NB] Picture this; the sunlight illuminates the mostly demonic army as it completely surrounds Jerusalem! The sun is glistening off of the razor-sharp edges of swords drawn for battle as Satan is about to lead the charge! A smug, self-confident smirk is on his demonic face as he is about to lead this massive army into battle! He raises his broad, double-edged sword and holds it high for effect and as the cry “Attack!” it was still unspoken and on his lips, that’s when God decides to demonstrate some real power! First, there was the biggest earthquake in the history of earthquakes! It was as if the whole world convulsed in death. As Satan was picking himself up off the ground, suddenly the lights went out! The bright, early-morning sun had been dimmed to a dark grey and the full moon refused to shine! Since the moon can only reflect the light of the sun, all it can do now was to glow a dim blood red. And with part of the stars being flung to the earth, so that even the STARLIGHGT was dimmed, so this was indeed earth’s darkest day! “Don’t you realize the Lord’s Day of Judgment will bring darkness, not light- gloomy blackness, not brilliant light?” [Amos 5:20/NB] [Satan’s grand army] After this all the army that surrounded Jerusalem took a powerful cut! There had been some so deceived by the lie of that old snake; they refused to believe that this was the end until Satan himself kneeled before the throne of Jesus and confessed that Jesus alone was Lord of all! With the news of Satan’s total surrender at the throne of Jesus, the solemnity of what was happening began to sink in as the people asked for the mountains and rocks to fall on them and to HIDE them. [For the last 1,000 years there was no Death] Lake of fire and of sulfur [brimstone] There is an eternal lake of fire and of sulfur! Its job is to DEVOUR AND DESTROY whatever gets tossed into it. So why is it eternal? “And the DEVIL who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the BEAST and the FALSE PROPHET are too, and they will be tormented there day and night forever and ever.” [Rev. 20:10/NB] The only eternal occupants of the lake of fire will be the UNHOLY TRINITY; but the fate of everyone else, the ones who haven’t had their names written in “The Lamb’s book of LIFE” will be to perish when thrown into the lake of fire: “For this is the way God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.” [Jn. 3:16-17/nb] [Fate of Hell] People don’t realize the true purpose of Hell. Hell was made to be a prison to hold all the angels who followed Satan [that old snake] into transgression against God until JUDGMENT DAY! The prison of Hell [like the graves] will be no longer needed: “Then Death [or the angel of] and Hades [or Hell] were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death [for the resurrected] - the lake of fire. If anyone’s name was not found written in the Book of LIFE, that person was thrown into the lake of fire.” [Rev. 20:14-15/NB] YOUR book of records There is a book of records being kept on you 24/7! Every word spoken, every deed done, every thought [even the “stray” ones], even the very intentions of your heart are being recorded! Jesus warns us about the power of our speech with these words: ““I tell you that on the Day of Judgment, people will give an account for every worthless word that they speak. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”” [Matt. 12:36-37/NB] Who can stand on their own righteousness on Judgment Day? No one will, because on our own, we can’t! The only words that will justify you won’t be words of wisdom by mans standards, but a plea for MERCY and GRACE in a +PRAYER OF REDEMPTION+! “Come, let’s consider your options,” says the LORD. “Though your sins have stained you like the color red, you can become white like snow; though they as easy to see as the color scarlet, you can become white like wool.” [Isa. 1:18/NB] The other book There is another book that will be opened on Judgment Day! This is the Lamb’s book of LIFE! Only the people who have their names written in this book will have eternal life [all others will perish in the lake of fire after the Judgment]! Only the ones who have HUMBLED themselves and have asked Jesus in their HEARTS, only the ones who have died to the FLESH but now live in the SPIRIT, only the ones who have had their BOOK OF RECORDS SEALD CLOSED by the perfect blood of Jesus, ONLY THE REDEEMED IN CHRIST WILL HAVE THEIR NAMES WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE!
