† Such a Time as This † Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, Do not think to yourself that in the king’s palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews. For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Esther 4:12–14 ESV John Wayne once said: Courage is being scared to death… and saddling up anyway. Esther was faced with a decision that could have led to her execution. She was scared, but finally decided if I perish, I perish. After fasting and praying she went on to meet the king and saved her people. Mordecai basically told her that if she did not go, that the Lord would send someone else, but she would miss the boat. Do not cower back from what you are facing today, you are here for a purpose. If God is for you, who can stand against you? If you withdraw God will send someone else, but you will miss the boat. What if you have been brought to this place for such a time as this?
