Summary for Gameweek 22 RAFA kicked off the week with a 4-1 win away to Pendeen on Monday night. F Carroll was the only home winner beating T George in the last frame of the night on the blue. M Ferris was star man with a good battling performance to beat P Thomas. HPC C won 3-2 away at Bosvargus which saw a good opening frame where A Beale beat D Fillary which saw both players pot well and they both deserved starman. Jon Care had a 21 break in his loss against J Wallis. Gables beat Mz Code 3-2 to move a point ahead in the league table. Starman was M George who had a 26 break to beat B Eddy and frame of the night saw R olds beat A Laity on the black. Mousehole B performed well to beat Mounts Bay 5-0, best frame saw A Robinson pot well to beat G Jenkin. Churchfield kept the pressure on top of the table RAFA, with the sides meeting next week, the had a fine 4-1 home win over HPC A. Star man was D Clemens had a 38 break to beat M Stratton in the final frame to secure the big win. HPC B won 3-2 at home against Mousehole B which saw M Phillips win the deciding frame against M Coward. P long won a close frame against P Corin on the black. Defending champions Heamoor moved into 3rd place and remain 6 behind the leaders with a 4-1 away win at St Ives CC. Starman J Cox performed well to beat S Curnow. M Williams was the only home winner beating R Gilbert. Best frame saw K Gilbert play well to overcome P Clegg. Saturday 22nd March R Cripps & M Ferris beat N Strick & T George in the Tregonning Pairs final 4-3. Nathan and Timmy got off to a flyer by taking the first two frames but then the frames went scruffy and Mike plus Robin pulled back to 2-2. Then they went behind again to then play ok to send the match into a decider. The deciding frame was the best frame of the night seeing R Cripps gain the tournaments highest break having a 47 break but to see the other pair battle back to get the frame all level with 1 red remaining. After a good safety battle Mike potted the pink to win the frame and win the tournament for the Grandpa and Grandson duo. Thank you for the referees who kindly volunteered Ian Lugg and Pete Long. Tuesday 1st April league meeting I hope for a good turn out as an important topic has to be discussed after a certain player is unable to compete in two finals.
