Summary of part of a discussion an old lady who lives on my street struck up with me. Why? I dont know. Old Lady: I get all my news from Fox News Me: Thats not news its commentary Old Lady: Well I like it. This country was founded on Christianity, the founding fathers were all Christians. Me: No actually they were deists. Old Lady: No they were Christians. Me: Do you know what a deist is? Old Lady: No. but the Pilgrims were all Christians. Me: Yeah but the Native Americans and Vikings were here first. Do you believe in Odin? Old Lady: *Confused Look* One nation under god and In god we trust its in the pledge of allegiance and on the money. Its in the constitution. Me: Actually Under God wasnt added to our currency until 1956 and the pledge of allegiance was also added later. I can print out the details for you about if you like. Old Lady: No, it says so on the currency and pledge of allegiance. Me: But that wasnt added until later and thats fact. I can go print out the information for you and bring it over. I dont mind. Old Lady: No thats ok. Some people believe what they want, even when provided with proof and not merely evidence. Why bother even trying to discuss politics or your opinions with if you are going to ignore certain truths? Facepalm.
