Summer Solstice 2014 A very big thank you to all who turned up on Saturday 21st June. The hanger doors were open at 03.45, and I started the day with John Simmonds, launching at 04.17 into a beautiful sky and indulging in lots of silliness!! we managed almost sixty flights by 09.30 when Dave Bowtell took over. I had breakfast and slept for a couple of hours, did some tugging and more instructing, (Daves youngsters are so enthusiastic)!! and closed the day with the last flight at 21.50. It was a great day with lots of flying (240+) and a lot of fun, Plus Colin Shorts superb Aerobatic display in the recently refurbished B4. Thanks also to Colin Watt and all the Instructors; Lasham and Werner, who made it happen, and Paul Haliday for the superb photography. I chose Naomi House Childrens Hospice for this event, we made £400.00 on the flying, and a substantial amount in the collection box. And Im sure they will also say a Big Thank You!!
