Summer fun hasnt ended yet, Prom Xtra is round the corner!! 23-24 August 10am – 5pm Prom Xtra will stretch over the beach and promenade making it Conwy County Borough Council’s biggest Colwyn Bay Prom event yet. The fun starts at The Toad Pub and stretches the entire prom right up to the Cayley embankment. Join the event from Colwyn Bay and you’ll be entering the outdoor zone sponsored by Halliwell Jones BMW North Wales. Organisers promise it will be filled with top attractions to get your heart rate pumping! There’s a climbing wall, a bouldering cube, a zip line and a high ropes course and more and the best part, they’re all free! You’ll see loads going on down on the beach. There’s segways, watersports demos and taster sessions and a world record attempt by Olympic sailing hopeful Chris Russel. There’ll also be a Welsh Rugby Union display with games on the beach. The event doesn’t stop there; visit the string of stalls and display’s throughout the event. The Prom Live stage is back by popular demand; all day, all weekend. Headlined by X Factor finalists, Jahmene Douglas on Saturday, and Kingsland Road on Sunday, there’s loads planned to showcase our more local talent right alongside them in the spotlights of the centre stage. Acts including Gavner P, MAV MAC, Lucy Was A Decoy, Matt Hamer, Jay Mckray Official, Click22, and Kameelion. Don’t miss the Game Beast. It’s a state of the art gaming bus parked on site, so even our dodgy August weather can’t dampen the spirit of any keen gamers out there. If you’ve got the little ones with you, be sure to take advantage of the free face painting. And, not to be missed, Cinderella, Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Despicable Me’s Minions will be stopping by throughout the day! Under the Cayley embankment is the much loved funfair! Often the most colourful and noisy part of the event, it’s always the most popular. There’ll be rides for the little ones and loads for big kids too!
