Sunday, 11th August, 2013. DARE TO BE DIFFERENT “…because in him is found some good thing toward the Lord God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.” 1 Kings 14: 13b. These words are a commendation of Abijah’s life. When he was a child, he had the seed of grace in him and the image of God was in him. He could discern between good and evil and he did that which pleased the Lord. He was Lot in Sodom, a good among the bad. The frame of his heart was towards that which was good, but the heart of his mother and father were set upon evil. Have you found yourself in such situation, where those you love influence you to do evil? Have you stood your ground and remained loyal to the cause of Christ? Good must triumph over evil. Do not be intimidated to do evil so that you won’t fall short of the glory of God. It is the glory and goodness of God that He will take notice of; even in the least good that is in any of His children. He looks upon one grain of wheat, than upon a heap of chaff, upon one shiny pearl than upon a heap of rubbish. Will God see any good in you, when He looks down from heaven? Can He boast of you, like He did of Job to the devil? In spite of the way the devil tried to frustrate the grace of God upon Job’s life, the young man still stood firm on the convictions he had about God. He was ostracized by people of his community and those that he took to heart turned against him. In all of these, he loved God even more and God found some good in him and boasted of him. Let the same be said of you. QUOTE: When you dare to be different, you will stand out. WORD OF PRAYER: My Father, I pray that you find something good in me towards you today in Jesus’ name. May every evil seed in me be scattered by fire, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
