Sunday Bloody Sunday by, Jonathan Sanderson I turned on the Sunday Morning News, and heard about two New York City police officers being gunned down yesterday. The gunman was an angry protester. Since when does protesting make it OK to go and kill someone? We are desensitised to violence. Theres so much of it in the world, it isnt shocking an more. We buy our children violent video games, to occupy their developing minds with murder. We watch it every day on TV, and accept it as reality, rather than do anything about it. The lines of write and wrong turn grey, and become one. There are no morals. If you dont like someone, what they believe, what they represent, then it is now acceptable to kill them. It happens every day, over and over again. Nobody does anything about it. Maybe they cant. It is an after thought. Oh thats sad, but it happened somewhere else. Nothing like that happens here. Guess what. It does. Right in your own back yard. Nobody is safe any more. We could all be in the same place, at any given moment. We eat and drink while tomorrow they die. We go about our lives, while other peoples lives are torn apart. Food, drink, parties, selfies, making serious gains at the gym, and whatever other luxuries we take for granted. Living without a care, while the world falls apart around us. There is nothing to say that it wont be your life turned upside down. Thats the kind of world we live in. But it doesnt have to be. We should appreciate what we have. We could loose it all any second. We should care about others, and not just ourselves. We should stand up for people who cant stand up for themselves. Fight for what is right. Dont stand by and let people take away our freedom, and way of life, just because it pisses them off. This Christmas is one of the most deadly in years. Why not try to make it a little brighter. Stop the fighting. Bring back a little of that peace on earth, and good will towards man. God knows we could really use some right about now.
