Sunday, December 21, 7am We are getting ready for a shift change on our floor. God has sent us some amazing caregivers. For the past 2 days Cody has been with her at night and today, Charlene will be with her for the 3rd day. They take such good care of her and we are very comfortable with them. We are fortunate to have Jim Valliant as her respiratory therapist during the week. He was in her room shortly after we arrived. Jim graduated from DHS the year before Steve and is a brother to Lisa Schroder. We have had other DHS graduates that work in other areas of Wesley contact us which we are very grateful. She is resting comfortably but more sedated now so she can really concentrate on healing. They carefully monitor her temperature, heart, blood, nutrition, electroglycerites, and many other things to fight off infections which are common when you have many tubes connected to you and need to lay still. I have to remind myself not to solely stare at the numbers on the monitor as they will go up and down so many times. Yesterday, Crystal and Allison both shared a photo that came at a good time for me...Ive got this -God. The many bible verses, messages and prayers that you have sent are of great comfort and reminders to us. For the next several days the goal is to keep her calm with as little distraction as possible. We keep 2-3 family members quietly in her room at all times, rotating in and out with the remainder in a private family room close by. You are welcome to visit us, which we so appreciate but most likely not be able to see Sidney until she is further along. She will be recovering for a long time and we will need your support for months to come. If you come, the family room is located to the right as you exit the 2nd floor elevator, please stop there first instead of coming directly to her room. Thank you for understanding. Your prayers, support, love and friendship have helped keep her alive and we thank God for you. Continue to pray for rest and healing to her brain and no infections to her body. ❤️
