Sunday Preview September 7th, 2014 Sermon Title: Super Christian Scripture: Romans 13:8-14 A short movie came out in 1980 called “Super Christian”. It was an amazing movie! It was so good that I created retreat curriculum and small group lock-ins that specifically tied in to the movie so I had a reason to show it. Super Christian told the story of Clark Kant a mild mannered Christian teenager living in two different worlds. During the week Clark follows the standards of the world but on Sundays dons his white suit with a baby blue shirt and becomes Super Christian. He sings heartily, tithes like a champ and discusses the sermon at length with his pastor. It’s super cheesy and over the top goofy but in the end it had a great message. By the end of the movie Clark found out that being a Christian isn’t about the clothes you wear or your actions on Sunday. I wish I could remember what brought about his revelation, but he found the truth of faith and became simply a Christian…but it was an every day thing. Join us this Sunday as we look at a couple of scriptures that could encourage us to be “Super Christians” or could encourage us simply to be like Christ. See you Sunday, Pastor Michele
