Sunday School Reading: Today we will be reading Revelations 4. After you struggling through the symbolism, just think about the complexity and holiness of God. We are nothing and He is everything!! How can you ignore the power and knowledge of God after John attempts to describe the appearance God? John was at a loss for words but described the appearance of God as best he could- 3 The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones-like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow. Then John says 24 elders and the 4 living creatures worshiped Christ-day after day and night after night!! Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty- the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come. We could speculate on the meaning of the 4 living creatures or guess who exactly the 24 elders were; but at the end of the day, nothing matters except all worshiped God singing You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased. Just take a few minutes and worship Him today for His power, love, patience, kindness, etc...
