Sunday evening...while Emilie has been in and out of sleep today, her friends, husband and brother painted her house! She picked the colors before entering the hospital. A very dark blue (navy) with yellow-green trim and doors. I cant wait to see it...shes been aching to do this for a long time. They prepped for the last couple of days, and then today Derek had a big painting party followed by a BBQ and everything was finished in a day! Last night Matthew wanted to talk, so he and I talked until 3:30am (!)...then I went back into Emilies room, where Id left her sleeping soundly. She was sitting up in bed looking at her Facebook page, and chipper. She said lets make a list for going home! yawn. So, we made a list, looked up items online that she will need when she goes home, talked, etc. until 5:30. I couldnt believe both of my children were so talkative in the wee hours of the morning (well, maybe I do believe it), but as a mom, I wouldnt give anything for those times. So, we talked. She looked really good this morning; Kraig came for me at 8:30 and we went to church then lunch with friends, then came home to crash for the afternoon. Just talked to her...shed been worried overnight that her surgery site looked off but the doctors reassured her today that the swelling and odd look shes seeing is going to ebb and flow over the next weeks and more, and on x-ray everything looks perfect. The incision looks terrific. So she feels better about that. Matthew just called--she just wants to sleep and thinks we should stay home, so well do that. A good sleep at home will feel good, and well get there early in the morning before the doctors arrive. As always, we are thankful for your love and support. Your prayers mean so much!
