Sunday is Alexander Hamiltons birthday. Naturally, were observing the date with a weekend of excellent events. As mentioned, on Saturday, 1/10, at 3pm, Pooja Nair of The Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society will discuss the Manhattan Well Murder Trial, whose defendant, Levi Weeks, was ably defended by the attorney tag-team of Hamilton & Aaron Burr. Attendance is free with museum admission. On Sunday, 1/11, also at 3pm, the chamber ensemble Concerts in the Heights takes to the Octagon Room to present From Salzburg to Vienna: Music From the Time of Alexander Hamilton. Well celebrate the native of St. Croix with works from the repertoires of Beethoven, Rameau, and the American William Billings, as well as a host of Caribbean folk tunes. Light refreshments provided by ace pastry chef Ellen Scariati will follow. The event is $25 generally, $20 for members. Advanced registration is preferred. To get a seat, call 212-923-8008.
