Sunrise, September 8th, 2014. Half Dome, in Yosemite National Park, from Olmstead Point. Twelve hours previous, this was a scene of smoke and flames as the Meadow Fire had blown up and consumed several thousand acres. But overnight rain showers and cooler temperatures had knocked down the fire by morning...greatly helping the firefighters (though it flared up again later with the afternoon winds).
