Sunset Cruiser Members please read the below message our club received on Facebook from Emily Wilkins. Hey everyone, I am Emily and I manage Andersons Creations. During the Carboretum, we will be collecting items to benefit Crayons 4 Kids. This program is beneficial to the children in the hospital as well as the doctors and the parents. First, the children are able to receive a box of crayons, coloring book, stickers, play dough, etc. to play with during their stay and take home after. To the doctors, these toys help them see how a child is doing without actually having to speak at first. This does not mean that the doctors do not engage, all of the doctors at Bronson are great, this means that the doctor can see if a child is being active and playing as they would at home. Finally, the program helps the parent. My children have both had stays in the hospital and crayons and coloring books are the last thing that I would think about packing. Because the items are provided, the child is able to have something new to play with and mom and dad are not left scrambling looking for entertainment. Some of the items that we have collected in the past, Crayons, Coloring books, notebooks, pencils, pens, stickers, play dough, markers, banners, award booklets, etc. Nothing given is for personal use and EVERYTHING will be given to the program when we are finished with the Crayons 4 Kids drive
