Sunspot 2192 is the one you saw on the news feeds during the partial solar eclipse and is being watched closely. I would estimate this sunspot at roughly between 50,000 to 100,000 miles (80,000 to 160,000 kilometres) in diameter. This is what generates the solar flares, coronal mass ejections which in turn gives us the auroras (northern/southern lights) magnetic storms, power distribution issues, along with disruption of communication and navigation signals.
