Super-typhoon Haiyan November 12, 2013 It cut a Path of Destruction Across The Philippines and heads toward Vietnam. Officials estimate up to 10,000 dead in the Philippines, as Vietnam braces for the worst Vietnam authorities have evacuated 883,000 people in 11 provinces across the country. Haiyan has weakened since it swept through the Philippines, but Vietnam state media report that six people were killed and dozens injured as the supertyphoon came close to the coast. . The storm had weakened by the time it hit Vietnam, and it was downgraded to a tropical storm after making landfall. But its still expected to cause heavy rain and flooding in northern Vietnam and southern China. . Haiyan may be the strongest tropical cyclone in recorded history, It was 3.5 times more forceful than Hurricane Katrina, which hit the United States 2005. It wasnt the storms gusts that caused most of the damage -- it as a mammoth storm surge of the sea that reached up to 5 meters (16 feet) high that destroyed cities, towns and farmlands. What is the cause of this type of Supertyphoon and tsunami Answer: Global warming What are the causes of global warming? Answer: Too much carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere—which acts as a blanket, trapping heat and warming the planet. The carbon dioxde is emitted from Burning fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas for energy such as by cars or Cut ting down and burning forests. Other toxic gases, released by factories, such as methane and nitrous oxide also contribute to global warming. Warmer weather vaporizes more of the water in the ocean to float up high and becomes the rainy cloud and make that area cooler and denser with the rain particles compared to the hotter air of the land. According to the law of motion and gravitation the denser air will move to less dense area and produce a rain storm. The magnitude of velocity and severity depends on the amount of the denser airand the size of difference of the temperature between the ocean and the land; the highr the hihr the temperature of the ocean the more severe of the storm will be, and the warmth of the ocean depends on the blobal warming, the global warming depends on the amount of carbon dioxide and other toxic gasses emitted. So to cut down the global warming, everyone of us has to 1.Reduce burning fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas for energy such as by cars 2.Stop cutting down and burning forests, toi cut down the amount of carbon dioxide in the air, and 3.Reduce other toxic gases, released by factories, such as methane and nitrous oxide also contribute to global warming. Footnote: Tropical cyclones with sustained surface winds of 74 mph or more are known as typhoons when they form west of the international date line. East of the line, theyre known as hurricanes
