Superdrug have created a set of scales that weighs you in - TopicsExpress

Superdrug have created a set of scales that weighs you in celebrities instead of pounds or kilos. For example, if you weigh 8st you’d be ‘Cheryl Cole’, if you’re around 9st, the scales would flash up with ‘Ellie Goulding’ and at 12st and you’ll get ‘Khloe Kardashian’. Superdrug believe that people are reluctant to say how much they weigh but would open up if they could say, ‘I’m a Beyonce’ or ‘I’m a Kate Middleton’. Superdrug have said that the scales are ”one of the ways that the health team here are helping our customers to be more open about discussing their health needs”. When I first read about the scales, I thought that they were a joke, but apparently not! However, the scales are no longer going into production due to concerns from eating disorder organisation, BEAT. Cheryl Cole had also expressed her opinions about the scales saying that she did not want to be included on them because she thought that they would cause girls to be more concerned about their bodies than their education. In Jane Davidson, we agree with Cheryl and applaud her for speaking up about the scales but we would love to know what you think. Do you believe the scales would have been a good way for people to open up about their weight or do you think they are just a terrible idea? janedavidson.co.uk/celebrity-weight-scales/
