Support Ron Moten tomorrow at DC AUTHORS TABLE WORKSHOP at Howard University. Mr. Moten, author of the book, Drinking Muddy Water will be the feature workshop will be held at Howard University Miner Building room 117 on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15 (11am-1pm). Please come out and support our local writers. These workshops are sponsored by the DC Area Writing Project in conjunction with Howard University School of Education. Mr. Moten is a native Washingtonian and co-founder of the Peaceoholics (a nationally known non-profit organization designed to combat violence and promote peace among the youth in the DC area). A streetwise African American young man, Mr. Motens journey landed him in the Danbury Federal Correction Institution where he earned his GED. That experience turned his life around and he went on to college, got a job teaching in a DC Charter School (Village Learning Center) and became entrenched in local politics. His book outlines his journey from the streets of DC his attempt to seek political office and make the streets of DC safe for all of its citizens.
