Support our Campaign for a Fairer Share of National Wealth by Moving Government Departments to the Regions: London is a fantastically successful, wealthy city - the political, financial, commercial and cultural capital of the UK. It is also becoming a hellishly expensive and overcrowded place to live, while many other regions of the UK languish in ongoing recession. Given that, we ask why provide London with a massive public subsidy through the presence of so many government departments there? Given modern communications couldnt these departments be based in other parts of the country? And wouldnt that help to cool an overheating London and stimulate stagnating regions?
