Supporting News Footage: whnt/2014/06/26/breaking-local-wiccan-uninvited-to-give-city-council-invocation-due-to-community-fears/ I guess a dont ask, dont tell policy may have to be put in place for religions as well, at least until people get use to it. Pagans (specifically witches) have fought exclusion from publicly practicing within government work for some time now. Technically, most pagan holidays are not recognized or have been altered and called Christian. Some records show as far back as 391BC, but most other organized religions Roman Emperors declared war on the pagans then. As it was seen uncontrollable. Im surprised that the many within the faith would even want to be involved in politics (at that level even), because of the types of disrespect, and misinterpretation of what it even means. Looking at todays popular television and movies depicting pagans its clear not many still understand what it means to us. But being the sucker that I am, I still watch. :) In other countries the inclusion of other religions arent typically debated or allowed near public office, as we do in America. Typically the dominant religion is inclusive within their politics, seems to me thats the reason for a lot of the infighting we see. What would your outrage be if you were excluded from something based on your religious beliefs?
