Sure. Just like they fired the cop who admitted he LIED under oath on a search warrant affidavit that led to a little old lady having her door busted down and guns pointed in her face, and a subsequent cash settlement to the little old lady. That cop got a 20 hour unpaid suspension. 20 hours for lying under oath, and no prosecution. You really think a cop that has carte blanche permission to kill dogs in their own backyards is going to get fired? Sure
