Surigao del Norte Police report ACCOMPLISHMENT ON ILLEGAL LOGGING (Tubod, SDN) – At about 6:00 PM of August 24, 2014, elements of Tubod MPS led by P03 Constantino L. Jamero Jr. conducted anti illegal-logging operation at Brgy. San Isidro, Tubod, SDN which resulted in the arrest of BLESILINO MADELO JASPE, 49 years old, married, farmer, a resident of Brgy Timamana, Tubod, SDN who were caught in the act transporting assorted illegally sawn lumbers known as “Uyajan” 2x3x12=15 pieces; “Angilan” 2x2x10= 35 pieces; “Bajog” 2x2x10=26 pieces and 2x3x10=7 pieces with a total volume of 422.6 bd. ft. and estimated market value of Ten Thousand Five Hundred Sixty Five Pesos (P10,565.00) which were boarded on one (1) Public Utility Vehicle, make: Suzuki, body: Multi-Cab; Plate Nr. JES-163, O.R. nr 49563550 registered in the name of Junie M. Jaspe of Brgy. Timamana, Tubod, Surigao del Norte. Arrested suspect together with the confiscated vehicle and assorted illegally sawn lumbers are in the custody of Tubod MPS for documentation and proper disposition for subsequent turn-over to the DENR. SHOOTING INCIDENT (Surigao City, SDN) – At about 5:30 PM of August 24, 2014, a fatal shooting incident transpired in Burgos Extension, Little Tondo, Brgy Washington, Surigao City victimizing RONDO CABAG-IRAN MENDEZ, 37 years old, married, driver and a resident of Roxas Extension, Little Tondo, Brgy. Washington, Surigao City, who sustained several gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body which resulted to his instantaneous death perpetrated by two (2) unidentified suspects boarded a black XRM motorcycle, one has a thin profile, more or less 5’6” in height, wearing light blue t-shirt and denim pants while the driver, who served as back up, was wearing polo shirt and denim pants. Initial investigation conducted by elements of Surigao City Police Station revealed that at around 5:20 PM of the same date, while the victim and his father, Roberto Lopez Mendez, were casually walking towards the victim’s house from a certain reflexologist when two suspects boarded said motorcycle tailed them. Upon reaching the place of incident, the victim sensed and yelled “TAY BANTAY” (Father Watchout) when one of the riders alighted from the said motorcycle and deliberately shot the victim hitting his left leg. The victim managed to ran inside a small alley, however he was being pursued by the suspect and eventually fired at him several times at close range. Afterwards, the suspects fled to unknown direction. The SOCO recovered six (6) fired cartridges and three (3) fired bullets in the crime scene. Surigao City PS is still conducting hot pursuit operation to the fleeing suspects. An in-depth investigation is still conducted by SCPS while motive of the incident is yet to be determined. TRAFFIC ACCIDENT (Bacuag, SDN) – At about 12:20 PM of August 25, 2014, a traffic accident transpired along the National Highway of Sitio Kinabutan, Bacuag, Surigao del Norte. A blue Honda Wave 110, bearing plate number 3313 LN, driven by VIC CRESPE PISCOS ARPILLEDA, 23 years old, single, employee of THPAL Mining Corporation, Taganito, Claver, Surigao City and a resident of Km. 9, Brgy. Bonifacio, Surigao City, victimizing SALVADOR TADUAN ODFINA, 43 years old, jobless, single, a resident of Purok Juan Luna, Poblacion Bacuag, Surigao del Norte. Initial investigation conducted disclosed that the aforesaid motorcycle was travelling from Claver, Surigao del Norte to Surigao City direction. Upon reaching the curved portion of said place, he accidentally hit the victim due to the slippery road brought by heavy rains. The victim sustained injuries on the different parts of his body particularly on his both legs. The victim was brought to CARAGA Regional Hospital for medical treatment. While the driver and his motorcycle is now under the custody of Bacuag MPS for proper disposition. Apprehension of Suspect for Physical/Psychological Abuse in Relation to RA 7610 (Surigao City, SDN) – at about 4:00 PM of Aug 25, 2014, a radio call received from CMO by desk officer of SCPS informing about physical and psychological abuse victimizing LYEZHELLE GEN LIPANG ENIOLA, 8 yrs old, grade 3 pupil and a resident of P-Tambis, Brgy. Quezon, Surigao City, SCPS personnel responded to the place of incident and apprehended ALFREDO BRIGOLE VEÑARUBE, 43 yrs old, married, farmer and a resident of Purok 19 Bulak, Brgy. Eva, Cabanglasan, Bukidnon. Initial Investigation disclosed that above said victim together with her grandmother (Sol Letecia Loayon Eniola) was at Palma Superstore located at Borromeo St., Brgy. Taft, Surigao City particularly at the cashier while her grandmother was paying for their groceries when suddenly said suspect dragged the victim outside the said establishment with a scissor on her neck and threatened to be killed. However, suspect was neutralized by customers of said store and SCPS personnel. Both victim and suspect were brought to CARAGA REGIONAL HOSPITAL for immediate treatment in which victim sustained bruises on her face and suspect also sustained laceration on his right eyebrow and injuries to the different parts of his body for we was mauled by the crowd. Suspect was temporarily detained in Surigao City Police Station Detention Cell while case was prepared for filling in court.
