Surprised today when renewing auto registration at Claremore Tag Agency when agent pointed out that the VIN number on the insurance verification form was incorrect...had some typos in it. She said had I been stopped by patrol, it would have appeared that we had no insurance and the car would have been immediately impounded. I called the insurance company who had made the mistake and they corrected the number and faxed me a new form to carry in the car, then added $69 per year to my premium for "changing info on the policy." No amount of reasoning would change their rules. SO, from now on when I receive new cards, I will ALWAYS check to make sure the numbers match up with the number on the vehicle. Lesson learned.
