Suspect Leads Greenfield Police on Chase, Runs from Abandoned Car GREENFIELD (WGGB) — Greenfield Police are searching for a suspect who ran from his car after a routine traffic stop Saturday evening. In a statement through the department’s Facebook page, Greenfield Police say they attempted to pull over a vehicle for a violation on Chapman St. at 5:25 p.m. Saturday. The driver refused to stop and sped away from the officer and turned down Davis St. in an attempt to get away. Witnesses later alerted police that the suspect ran from the car, after it was abandoned in a downtown parking lot. Greenfield Police, along with officers from the Montague Police Department, brought canines to the area to search for the suspect. They were not able to locate the suspect or make any arrests, but are continuing their investigation Sunday. They have not released a description of the vehicle, but say that they have secured it as part of their investigation.
