Suspended intelligence: The act of failing to apply logical reasoning, by choice, to a specific topic or situation whilst being fully capable and possessing the faculties to do so. (My definition/understanding of the concept) Now this may seem as something, which is irrational, and on the fringes of a developed society, however rather than being few and far between is the accepted status que when matters of Faith and Religion are brought up. The case is always made that science and religion are not mutually exclusive facets of life, and some may argue that it is 2 sides of the same coin, I do concede religion was our first attempt at science or at least our first attempt at gaining a “understanding” however shallow. But then it can, and must be deduced at Religion much like the science it claims to reflect under go the same amount of scrutiny, testing and if needs be Dismissal. After all the science of yesterday is not the science of today and will not be the science of tomorrow, because that is how progress is achieved. Why then, this blatant suspension of intelligence? Why do we allow for such absolutes when it is a well-known fact that nothing can remain without change? And why when so many scientific theories before it have been nullified do we refuse to acknowledge the over whelming rejection of a theory which was outdated 100s of years ago.
