Fayettevilles International Folk Festival, Friday 26 Sep-Sunday 28 Sep - Celebrate our communitys cultural diversity with music and dance, arts and crafts and international food this Friday through Sunday in downtown Fayetteville. One of the more unique aspects of living in the Fayetteville/Fort Bragg community is the rich blend of cultures from throughout the world. Thirty-six years ago the Arts Council of Fayetteville took advantage of this and began the International Folk Festival. Go to theartscouncil/IFF/IFFPerformanceSchedules_2014.pdf for a list of performers. 36th International Folk Festival schedule: Friday, Sept. 26 4th Friday, Downtown Fayetteville Arts Council building (301 Hay St.), 7 to 9 p.m. Folks of all ages get a taste of Fayetteville’s arts and cultural offerings, from gallery openings to artist performances. Saturday, Sept. 27 Parade of Nations, Hay Street, 10:30 a.m. See all the pageantry and customs of our diverse community during the Parade of Nations Festival Park, Noon to 6 p.m. Live performances on multiple stages, authentic cuisine at the International Café, unique arts and crafts vendors, children’s area, Native American Cultural Showcase Festival Park, Main Stage, 5:15 p.m. Featuring internationally acclaimed Malaysian singer/songwriter YUNA ! This performance is presented in partnership with Fayetteville State University. Sunday, Sept. 28 Festival Park, Noon to 6 p.m. The fun continues with live performances on multiple stages, authentic cuisine at the International Café, unique arts and crafts vendors, children’s area, Native American Cultural Showcase. Festival Park, Festival Stage, 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Performances by Spam Allstars , a nationally known Hip hop, Latin, funk, and electronica band from Miami, Florida.
