Sweater weather for the needy When Its cold at night, most of us turn on the heater or get an extra blanket or two. What about those who cant turn on a heater or those who dont own any blankets. Do you ever feel guilty for having to much or for spoiling yourself. Do you notice those less fortunate around you or do you ignore them like the rest of us. my closets are full of clothes i dont wear, and i try to be frugal, belive me, i still wear clothes i use to wear when i was in high school. Still, sweaters, jackets and pants are piling up in my closet. I decided to give my clothes away to a charity or a local nonprofit. The problem with that is that I dont really see the benefit on the local community, first hand. Yes, they sale the clothes, raise funds for the community and help when they can. But thats not fast enough, have you ever gone to bed not being able to stay warm, you cant sleep, it gets into your bones, if youve been deployed, you would know. To make my story short, a couple of friends and i loaded our cars with extra clothes. Whenever we see someone in need, we offer them a sweater or jacket. P.s. Ive been rudely turned away by some people, but then again I emphasize with them, Ive been around a lot people with mental health issues, if youve been deployed you would understand.
