Swedish company ABB in important power system deal ABB in Sweden, together with ABB in Greece, today signed a contract worth approx. 10 million euro in a deal for a interconnected power system for the Cycladic Islands. The project will initially connect four islands with Greece’s mainland power system. The ABB part of the project include a static var compensator (SVC), which is a system producing the reactive power, necessary for the transmission of the power. Ambassador Charlotte Wrangberg was present during the signing ceremony together with, among others, Minister of Labour Ioannis Vroutsis and deputy Minister of Energy and Environment Asimakis Papageorgiou. Other companies in the project participated as well. In a short speech ambassador Wrangberg congratulated ABB and the Greek Government to the conclusion of the project, another example of the excellent relations between Sweden and Greece. Wrangberg also said that more and growing companies are key factors to employment, growth and welfare. That is why Sweden wants a world class climate for business, in which companies like ABB can continue to grow and develop.
