Sweet Miss Rosie Rosie is a 4 ½ year old black spayed female - TopicsExpress

Sweet Miss Rosie Rosie is a 4 ½ year old black spayed female with cropped ears, weighing 130ish pounds. Those are her factual statistics, but they aren’t what really matters. Rosie loves everyone, gets along with kids and cats, is a big old sweetheart…and needs a permanent foster home ASAP. Rosie originally came into rescue March of 2013 and was adopted in April. However, no one knew of the medical issues which would present themselves in the coming months and Rosie found her way back into our rescue in July. Rosie’s problem began with incontinence, which seemed to draw a difference diagnosis with each vet she saw. RMGDRI had Rosie examined by our special ‘Go-To Vet’ for unexplained medical problems, where she was suspected of having wobblers, even though she did not exhibit any of the severe symptoms we have come to expect from that disease. Maybe the incontinence was behavioral? X-rays were taken just in case and read by a neurological specialist. Rosie was found to have good alignment, but mild to moderate narrowing of the vertebral canal at C4-C7, and mild arthritis. In short, Rosie has wobblers. And it was her unfortunate luck that it was affecting the nerves which signaled to her a need to eliminate. When her incontinence issues became both urinary and fecal, it was determined that Rosie be made a permanent foster in a loving home in W. Virginia. The only other signs of this disease have been her tendency to tire quickly and mild difficulty with stairs. As luck, and real life, would have it, this placement cannot happen and now Rosie is stranded in TN with no home to call her own. RMGDRI is desperately seeking a new permanent foster home for sweet Rosie, along with transport help to that home. We continue to provide all medical care (and this case, supply of diapers) for our permanent fosters, with the foster family only responsible for feeding their new furkid and giving her the unconditional love she deserves. As long as Rosie’s quality of life is good with her, we have no plans to do anything other than keep her safe, peaceful and happy in a forever home of her own who understands and can deal with her special needs. If you think your home may be the one she is looking for or would like more information, please contact [email protected]. There are pictures of Rosie in her own album under our photos section. [Permission to crosspost to other Great Dane groups. All prospective foster homes must be already approved by a local rescue to foster.]
