Sadly this is exactly how it feels sometimes... And Im exceedingly blessed to have found assistance with the most expensive of my 17 current medications...Many, more often than not the elderly, arent so fortunate. The prices some of these folks are having to pay (you cant help but over-hear when you are in line at some of the box-store pharmacies) is unbelievable. Is this really the America we want to leave the next generation to fix? Are we done? Really? It will all depend, ultimately, on whether or not we grow a backbone and demand our representatives stop acting like morons with inflated egos and actually do what we hired them to do. The key, of course, is to not only talk big but to back it up with pink slips and directions out of Washington for those who cant get their act together. Comfort may be found in actively ignoring, denying, or pretending you dont see what is happening all around the world, right down to the very neighborhoods you are all sitting in right now---but, as we often say, the sh#t is getting real and if folks dont wake up soon, the comfort they feel in ignorance will become the comfort of the grave. How long until what we saw happen in Paris isnt repeated here at home? Whether they are members of one of the Radical Islamic groups or a home-grown terrorist (lets not forget Oklahoma, k?)? In the cities and homes of people the world over? (And I hope its understood I am speaking of an increase in the already numerous attacks, incidents, and atrocities taking place 24 hours a day, every day, all over the Globe. Most of which never make it to any of the major news agencies here in the States...Were too busy watching scripted reality shows and the latest in the daily lives of celebrities and athletes behaving badly to be bothered with how many children were killed in regions in Africa or how many American children will either starve or die of exposure this winter...All this while our News agencies sit and create their version of the truth.) The Terrorists, not unlike our politicians, love to blow as much smoke as they possibly can...it clouds the issues while it breeds suspicion and mistrust among the people they plan on victimizing. Did I get off on a tangent and just let the words flow, yep...I sure did. Im no longer concerned with how I am perceived for what I write and sharing my opinions and viewpoints... I guess Im past feeling the need to edit myself and what I feel for the sake of decorum... I cant remember where I read/heard it, but I think its appropriate : Tell the truth and shame the Devil. Sounds good to me.
